The twelve days of Christmas is the period that begins with Christmas, the birth of Christ (December 25th) and ends with Epiphany, the coming of Magi or three wise men (January 6th, sometimes called Three Kings' Day). The wise men brought the baby Jesus three gifts to honor a king or deity in the ancient world: gold (a precious metal), frankincense (perfume or incense), and myrrh (an anointing oil).
Light one candle the first night, two candles the second night, three candles the third night, etc. And be sure to sing the song!
